He works in the Research and Analysis department in the Danish Diabetes Association. He is engaged with translating diabetes education research into practice with a focus on methods, models and tools for nurses, doctors, dietitians, physiotherapists and other health care professionals. The goal is to create dialogue between patients, relatives and practitioners. His current main focus is on family involvement in patient education, user involvement in diabetes care, voluntary sector led peer support and competence development for Diabetes educators.
He was in the Advisory Board of the Danish knowledge center for user involvement in health care. He has organized conferences, seminars and workshops for health care professionals to engage in diabetes patient education.
