Dr Francesc Xavier Cos is a general practitioner in Barcelona (Spain) since 1997 currently working as a Director of Sant Martí Primary Health Centres (Catalonian Health Institute located in the city of Barcelona, managing over 100 professionals with 27 GPs). He has been member of the GEDAPS “Primary Care Diabetes Study Group” since 1997, (www.redgedaps.org) founded in 1993 by Prof. JF Cano (GP and Endocrinologist) , together with an enthusiastic group of GPs from The Catalonian Primary Care Society (www.camfic.org). He is a member of The Primary Care Diabetes Research Network ( Fundació Jordi Gol i Gurina) since 2001 and is also a member of Spanish Primary Care Diabetes research Network (redIAPP) endocrinology division since 2001 and elected as the European representative since 2004. Xavier Cos is Vice Chair of PCDE since 2009 and was re-elected as vice chair of PCDE for a second and last term of 4 years. In March 2016 Xavier Cos is voted Chair Elect.
